Welcome to the New Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone

About Our New Look

By the Hot Zone Team, Mon May 1, 4:19 AM ET

Since our launch last year, the key goal for "Kevin Sites in the Hot Zone" has been to open a window into the world's war zones by telling stories of human suffering and perseverance, and to use the unique qualities of the Internet to tell those stories in a variety of ways, combining text, photos and video.

With that in mind, we have redesigned the Hot Zone site in an effort to make it more engaging and easier to navigate.

We have also added new features, including Kevin Sites' diary entries from the road and a Flickr photostream. We'll also start to highlight more Hot Zone related content, including behind-the-scenes videos, news reports and other items that fall outside the realm of Kevin Sites' conflict dispatches.

In the end, our goal remains the same: to put a human face on the issues surrounding global conflict.

Finally, note that we've added contact information for the Hot Zone team. As you browse the new site, you can use the feedback form or click on "Contact Us" (on the right side of the page) to send us your thoughts or story suggestions.

HZ Team: you guys are amazing. So much I like about this site's changes...a more personalized affect in presentation, the flickr endorsement, (new to me) the many advantages to this. I'd been drutherin' for a one-stop shop for all the pix on this site. Your thoughfulness shows. Excellent job.

Nice upgrade. I'm cautiously amazed that Kevin is taking on MORE work though, in addition to what had got to be some very taxing and exhausting travel into the situations he covers. Now to respond to emails etc. Well, all power to Kevin and team. Hope you still have time to catch some Santa Monica rays during your down time! http://grantmontgomery.blogspot.com/
